Record your first judgment

You combine a domain, a recent date, a long exact phrase and PDF-only results. Nothing appears, so you conclude the feature does not exist.

Understand the judgment process

Zero results may reflect restrictive terms, different vocabulary, indexing gaps or navigation-only material. Relax one restriction and inspect the effect. An unsuccessful search alone does not establish absence.

Google after: and before: can help find pages by update date. Displayed dates are not necessarily event dates or data periods. Check the page itself; recent-only searching may omit an older but still-current specification.

Record query, date, channel, what you found or failed to find, and the next change. Keep meaningful turns rather than every keystroke. If only an abstract was accessible, do not report having inspected the full text.

Remove phrase quotes but retain concepts; remove the format restriction; broaden the date and inspect institutional navigation. Check relevance at every step rather than accepting the first result.

A recently updated anniversary article covers an old event. Is its update date the event date?

Preserve a revision record

What changed your judgment? What still supports it? When will you review?

Indexing, region and settings change rankings. A query log improves traceability without guaranteeing identical results.

Check whether you supplied inspectable evidence, a feasible next step and revision conditions. Revealing an answer is not mastery.
