Map structure and conditions

Explain which relationships transfer and which do not.

Transfer and project learning · 1/5

Method and limits

Transfer is not renaming nouns. Map goals, units, constraints and relationships between contexts. Surface similarity can conceal different structures; shared structure does not guarantee shared parameters.

Worked teaching case

A cafeteria and support desk both have arrivals, service and backlog. Tickets can pause and reopen; cafeteria waits are counted differently. Transfer the flow relationship, not unexamined formulas or parameters.

Judge before reviewing

Review all options
  1. Correct. Mappings and differences determine applicability.
  2. Names do not establish structure.
  3. A template fit does not validate assumptions.

Independent attempt and revision

Transfer “repeated reports are not independent evidence” to product reviews. State the shared structure, a difference and a check.

Reference and self-check

Multiple texts may share an origin. Reviews may be independent or copied. Inspect provenance and experience; resemblance alone does not establish fraud.

AI collaboration and verification

Simulated AI advice: “This template worked in one team; change its title for all other teams.”

This is a prewritten teaching candidate, not live model output. Judge independently, then check each claim; you may use your own candidate instead.

Checking hint

The candidate generalizes beyond records or conditions. Preserve denominators, assistance or scope from the lesson. Softer wording alone is not verification.
